Gen Con-To Review

It's been a week since Gen Con and I THINK I am feeling normal again. I think...

We drove down Wednesday night and checked into our room. The staff was nice but the hotel was so sub par I can't believe the ratings are real. You can read our review entitled Did R Kelly Stay Here? but spoiler alert: that hotel is nasty and you shouldn't stay there.

We didn't spend much time in our room though!  We met with some of the Hex community at the Tilted Kilt. The Tilted Kilt is like Hooters only everyone is dressed like "oops I did it again" Brittney Spears. I was just happy to sit down. The waitresses were doing their best to dodge being hit on and doing their jobs without punching someone. After that we got our badges (thank you Gen Con for making it 24 hours because even at midnight the line was soooooo long) and then we went back to the hotel to play games.

Next day we were up and transformed into Totalie and Trulie so we could do our panels. Full Metal went well, and the dress making panel was so much fun! The group was smaller which meant I could sit and make flowers with them out of some blue ray sleeves I snagged at Origins. Everyone had a great time!

Paper Dress Panel

Friday we gamed and gamed and gamed and gamed and gamed some more.

Saturday was the big show day. Death Note Panel was a good chat with fellow fans. We learned how uncomfortable it is to talk about the subject of writing names in a notebook for certain purposes. Death Note is a lot more than it appears on the surface and it is interesting to talk about it. The comedy went really well, except the door was locked so people who were late couldn't get in. It was so exciting to see people I knew from Columbus waiting in the hallway. In fact we were recognized by a few people which made us feel pretty special!

We weren't the only pink and green haired duo in the convention this year but Awesome's hair is still the most...special?
He has some good points.
I am a tad concerned with the pink and green haired characters from Home Stuck looking a lot like us but then again, just like in gaming, the more the merrier! Besides, Wanda and Cosmo from Fairy Odd Parents are older than us. ^_~
I got to play a game I wanted to play last year! Werewolf. OMGlob I LOVE WEREWOLF I want to play it until I can't play it anymore then play it again.

Overall Gen Con was so exhausting but I met people and played and had so much fun! Besides the hotel, traffic was bad, but our carmates entertained everyone by reading Tweets from the One Direction concert and watching videos so we can all learn how to whip and nay nay.

Whip and nay nay is not a pony.

But the chair is a banana and we must beware the ficus.

and that is what Gen Con does to your brain.
